About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator with 7-10 years experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

Senior Linux Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Work on new installations/deployments and the change request
  • Carry out the advance level of troubleshooting on technology supported (Linux OS Applications and Hardware)
  • Extend technical support to Clients over email and phone.
  • Apply patches to the OS/applications or upgrade the applications as and when required, as per the approval from the respective Team Leaders.
  • Ensure earlier resolution to the issues to meet SLA
  • Vendor Call log & follow up for hardware, software issues when required” “install, and configure servers and services platforms on popular Linux distributions (Redhat, CenOS, Ubuntu, etc.) in both on-premise & cloud context
  • implement monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions for efficient and healthy infrastructure
  • Ensure security through access control, backups, and firewalls.
  • Regularly document all processes and incidents on the infrastructure with technical insights, manuals, and IT policies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues & defects that affect system/application performance or infrastructure availability
  • Responsible for Hardware/Software Installation & Testing/System Upgrades for servers.
  • Hands on experience on Hardening the servers.
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • implementing iptables, selinux policies.
  • Hands on experience on configuring and implementing Audit Logs tools
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills, including analysis of logs, events
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience in IP networking and static routing FTP, SSH, SMTP, DNS, web servers, Syslog logging facility
  • Good exposure to scripting knowledge (Shell, python)
  • Conceptual knowledge on SAN/NAS (FC/ISCSI)
  • Experience on any of the h/w (Cisco UCS/Dell/HPE/Chassis)
  • Working experience in DataCenter environment
  • Well versed with ITIL processes
  • Conceptual knowledge on RHEL/Centos/VMware

Senior Linux Administrator Requirements

Must Have :

  • Redhat Certified
  • IT Graduate / Computer Science / Telecommunications / Engineering
  • Certifications in Technical Domains, listed Techstacks
  • Experience in L1or L2 Support

Good to Have :

  • Strong  technical problem solving skills and experience in IP networking and static routing FTP, SSH, SMTP, DNS, HTTP/S, DHCP, Syslog logging facility
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Team player and ability to work independently and effectively under pressure in a high paced and energetic environment
  • Independent problem solver and self‐starter. Strong documentation abilities necessary to ensure timely problem resolution
  • Timely decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and drive for results

About You

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a small to mid‐size software company in a Systems Administrator role.
  • Post‐secondary education in computer science or technology support services or equivalent capability from relevant work experience 
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
